Effective date: September 30, 2026
ubeChores is published by ube media (Jakob Kubicki). The short version: we keep what you and your house put into the app, use it only to run the app, and never sell it or use it for advertising. There are no ads, analytics or trackers in ubeChores.
Your account. How you sign in decides what we receive:
If you use Sign in with Apple, we also keep a token from Apple so that deleting your account can revoke the app’s access to your Apple ID.
Your profile. A display name, an emoji, a colour theme, and either a generated cartoon face or a photo you upload.
What your house creates. The house’s name, its chores and schedules, completed chores and any proof photos, emoji reactions, comments, nudges, and plans you share with the house (such as a trip, with its dates and a note).
Invitations. When you invite someone, we store the email address or phone number you invited and whether they accepted. An invitation stops working after 7 days. Email invitations are sent by us. Phone invitations are sent as a text from your own Messages app. If you pick a number from your contacts, iOS gives the app only that one number; the app can’t read your contacts.
Reports and blocks. If you report a post or comment, we keep who reported it, the reason, and a copy of what it said, and we email that to our moderation inbox. If you block a housemate, we keep that you blocked them. Blocks are private: the person you block isn’t told.
Your device. A push notification token, so notifications from your house reach your phone.
No location, no contacts list, no browsing or usage analytics, no advertising identifiers, and no tracking across other apps or websites.
Everything your house creates is visible only to the members of that house: people who accepted a personal invitation. Your profile is visible to the people in your houses. Moderation reports are seen only by us.
Apple may share aggregate statistics with us, such as download counts and crash reports, through App Store Connect. That’s governed by Apple’s privacy policy and your device’s “Share With App Developers” setting.
We use a small number of providers to run the app. Each gets only what it needs to do its job:
The app uses the camera or your photo library only when you choose to add a proof photo or a profile photo. Photos are stored privately and shown only to the people in your house. A proof photo can be removed by whoever posted it or by the house’s homelord.
Reminders for your own chores are scheduled on your phone. Nudges, a housemate’s completed chores, overdue chores and shared plans arrive as push notifications through Apple. You can turn notifications off in Settings at any time.
We keep records of invitations, of the emails we’ve sent (the address and the kind of email), and of moderation reports, so we can fix delivery problems and deal with abuse. Email us and we’ll delete any of this, or send you a copy of your data.
ubeChores isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. For a significant change, we’ll also say so in the app’s release notes.
